Taylor Swift’s “Gorgeous” is about one-night stands, ya’ll and the old Taylor is definitely dead (and we love it!).
From the explosive introduction of “Look What You Made Me Do,” a song widely touted as Ms. Swift hitting back at her haters and the names she’s been called in the past year, she’s back on her game singing about unrequited love.
“Gorgeous” is basically about her singing how bad she wants to bang a hunky guy she met a party once, but sung romantically.
Trust that a lady boner can be sung in such a fashion only by Ms. Swift, with lines like “Ocean blue eyes, looking in mine,” she sings. “I feel like I might sink and drown and die.”
We also learn a little about how she flirts apparently, as she croons the guy should “take it as a compliment that I got drunk and made fun of the way you talk.”
But it looks like she isn’t one to make a first move either, because she gets shy as she sings how it even hurts to look at someone so gorgeous.
“You’re so gorgeous, I can’t say anything to your face,” she sings in the chorus. ”’Cause look at your face.”
While we know that love, pining, and loss are all apart of Swift’s repertoire, it’s funny to listen to how she sings specifically about a really hot guy she’s really into, and even kinda admitting how she’s a little out of his league.
“There’s nothing I hate more than what I can’t have,” she sings. “Guess I’ll just stumble on home to my cats… alone. Unless you want to come along?”
Hope you got laid that night, girl! Or, at the very least, had a good night in with the cats.
