Stranger Things season 2 trailer is here and it’s darker than the previous season.
The breakout Netflix series starring the most talented and charming group of child actors had just dropped a new trailer at Sand Diego Comic-Con and it was epic.
The second season is set to premiere on Oct. 27 this year and the gang is back for more thrills, spooks and 80’s pop culture references.
With Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in the background, Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Noah Schnapp (Will) and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) reprise their roles as Hawkins Middle-Schoolers who get into the strange webs and mysteries of extra-terrestrials.
In the trailer, the gang faces bigger threats, donning Ghost Busters costumes and all the while hoping their telekinetic friend, Eleven (Mille Bobby Brown) was still alive.
Meanwhile, Will Byers might have been rescued by his faithful friends but that doesn’t stop him from revisiting “The Upside-Down” in the most inconvenient situations.
“Whatever is happening, it’s spreading from this place,” says Hawkins’ Sheriff, Hopper.
The trailer ends with eerie shots of one of our favorite TV characters of all time – Eleven. Thankfully, she’s still alive and undoubtedly fighting off Demogorgons to get back to her friends.
In a recent interview, show director Shawn Levy said things take a darker turn in the second season of the hit series.
“Trauma is a major theme and frankly, the return to normalcy,” he said. “Is normal eve possible again in Hawkins? In the Byers family? In the Wheeler family?”
He added, “That’s a question that looms over Season 2.”
