Prince Charles seems to have a strange term of endearment already for the new Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, and it’s actually really sweet.
Meghan Markle seems to be getting along well with her in-laws and it’s showing. Just recently, she had her first solo outing with the Queen of England, only a month after her wedding.
Meghan and Queen Elizabeth II stepped off a private train in Cheshire this week to attend various events, including the opening of a theater.
But she’s not only gaining the approval of her husband’s grandmother and the longest-reigning monarch in the U.K. – she’s also building a great relationship with Prince Charles, the father of Prince Harry.
The royal patriarch already even has a nickname for her!
According to reports, Prince Charles calls the California-born royal, “Tungsten,” which is a type of metal.
According to sources, this is due to Meghan Markle’s “strong and unbending” attitude towards the causes she believes in.
“Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy,” a royal source told the Daily Mail. “It’s become a term of endearment.”
It just makes sense! Even before she was engaged to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle has been a proud feminist and even showed her heart for feminist causes, as young as 12 years old.
Meanwhile, it seems that the non-appearance of Meghan’s own dad during her wedding did a great thing for her relationship with Prince Charles.
According to reports, Prince Charles was “terribly touched” when he was tapped to walk Meghan down the aisle.
The royal monarch is also reportedly grateful to Meghan for helping repair his relationship with Prince Harry.
“Meghan met Charles and was bowled over by his charm,” an insider said. “She told Harry he was wonderful: welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind, and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.”
