McDonald’s Tweet to Donald Trump may or may not be another one of their genius marketing strategy. Nevertheless, people have been sharing and retweeting the fast food chain’s choice words all over social media, giving people something to talk about on an otherwise dull Thursday morning.
The Tweet read: “@realDonaldTrump You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands.”

The Tweet had since been deleted but not before thousands of Twitter users spread the word like wildfire. People had shared screencaps of the Tweet, causing a ruckus online.

“Suddenly I want a Big Mac, well done @McDonalds,” Shay Stewart Bouley wrote on Twitter.
People were also quick to make jokes about the whole thing.
Twitter user @blackdoglurking shared a photo of Burger King, along with the caption: “McDonald’s Twitter Account Hacked, Police Release Photo of Suspected Hacker.”

McDonald’s spokesperson, Terri Hickey said in a statement that their company’s social media account was hacked.
“Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this,” Hickey said a few hours after the incident, as per McDonald’s Twitter account.
However, many weren’t convinced by the statement and believe McDonald’s choice words for Trump is just an advertising strategy.
“I’m confident the #McDonalds tweet was done by an affirmative-action intern. A hacker would have been pro-Trump!” said Richard Spencer.
“McDonald’s claims their Twitter was compromised, yet tweet is pinned,” wrote @ScottPresler.
Funnily enough, Trump hasn’t replied to McDonald’s Tweet yet.
