Mariah Carey Christmas mood this year: Claiming she doesn’t know fellow divas.
Mariah Carey throws shade at pop stars Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande during her live appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.
If you’ve lived as long as we have, you probably know that Christmas is a Mariah Carey holiday. Right after Thanksgiving, you could almost immediately hear her famous holiday album blasting from radios everywhere in the world.
However, the diva didn’t seem to be in a very merry mood when asked about her opinion on singers Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato.
During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the “Through the Rain” singer had this to say about Lovato: “I don’t know her either and so I wouldn’t say anything to her.”
She continued saying, “She should come up, introduce herself to me, say, ‘Here’s my opinion, what do you think about it?’ That’s how you handle s***, OK?”
And that’s not all, Carey also said she didn’t know who Ariana Grande was, despite being compared to each other a lot by fans.
“No. I don’t know… Honestly, I’m not familiar. I listen to hip-hop more than I listen to pop music,” Carey said.
This isn’t the first time Carey denied knowing famous divas. Years ago, she also claimed she didn’t know who Jennifer Lopez was.
It’s also why Lovato had some salty things to say about Carey when a meme that compared the latter to Grande surfaced online.
“Mariah is a legend and is so talented but constantly disses people. It’s nasty the way she treats Jennifer [Lopez]. Ari did nothing wrong,” Lovato commented on the meme.
Following Carey’s appearance on Watch What Happens Live, she was spotted arriving in Aspen in her private jet to the tune of “All I Want For Christmas” (of course).
Carey was joined by her daughter, five-year-old Monroe and her new boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, 33.
