As Emma Stone’s Golden Globes 2017 win wasn’t only special to her –it was special to all of us, her fans! Especially because as she climbed up to the stage to receive her trophy for Best Actress, her ex-boyfriend, Andrew Garfield gives her a standing ovation.
A few years ago, the internet fell in love with the Hollywood power couple that was Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, who used the opportunity to promote their favorite charities when paparazzi followed them. They were tinsel town’s Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. Unfortunately, much like their characters in The Amazing Spiderman, their love story ended, albeit less tragically. No one died but our hearts did, amirite?
Anyway, on Sunday, Jan. 9, Emma Stone won the Golden Globes 2017 Best Actress Award In A Musical or Comedy.
While she was getting up on stage, the camera panned to the other stars in the audience and what did we see? Oh, nothing, just her former beau, Andrew Garfield giving her a standing ovation and showing his full support.

Of course, Stone was too busy in her well-deserved moment to notice Garfield as she delivered her acceptance speech.
“This is a film for dreamers,” Stone said of La La Land, the musical that dominated the Golden Globes this year where she co-starred with Ryan Gosling. “I think that hope and creativity are two of the most important things in the world.”
She concluded: “To any creative person who has had a door slammed in their face … or anyone who feels like giving up — I share this with you.”
Although Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have broken up after four years of dating since 2011, they’re never afraid to share their honest thoughts and feelings about eachother. Just a few weeks prior to the Golden Globes, Garfield admitted he still loved Stone.
During a Hollywood Reporter interview, the 33-year-old actor was asked who he’d want to be stranded on a desert island with.
“Emma Stone,” he said. “I love Emma. She’s all right. She can come.”
Meanwhile, in a Vogue Magazine interview, Stone admitted Garfield was “someone I still love very much.”
