Ellen DeGeneres made a slight faux pas when she introduced World of Dance host Jenna Dewan on their promotional stint on Ellen, accidentally calling the dance maven by her married name, Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
As you probably know, Jenna is married to Magic Mike star Channing Tatum, and while they were an adorable (and super sexy!) couple and doting parents to daughter Everly, they called it quits in April.
Ellen caught herself however, and before going to break, made a point to apologize for her little slip.
“I have to say, before we go to break, I’m so sorry,” DeGeneres started. “I introduced you, and it was just such a habit, I have to say, the way you and Channing are handling everything, is beautiful and for your daughter and the statements have been great. And I apologize,” said the talk show host and comedian.
Dewan took it all in stride however, and even thanked Ellen for her kind words.
“Thank you. And I mean honestly, thank you and everybody for all the love and the support. It’s truly so moving so thank you,” she said.
Dewan was also accompanied by World of Dance co-host Jennifer Lopez, who gave Dewan a tight hug in the middle of what could have been an awkward turn of events.
“It’s all love!!” Dewan said.
People reports that Jenna and Channing are still doing good post-split, remaining very amicable with each other.
“I’m good, I’m really good. I so appreciate all the love and everything,” she has said in an appearance on Entertainment Tonight to for the World of Dance premier.
World of Dance Season 2 premiers on May 29.
