Ashley Graham Is #Goals In Her First Revlon Beauty Campaign


Ashley Graham scored her first beauty campaign

In a first for the plus size industry, model Ashley Graham announced Wednesday she is the new face of  makeup giant Revlon’s Live Boldly campaign.

While it seems like Graham’s been just about everywhere doing just about everything, this is actually her first beauty campaign, and is also regarded as a first for the industry: hiring a proudly plus size model.

Revlon’s announcement is one of the first times a plus-size model has landed such a major beauty contract, writes Nylon.

“Historically, curvy girls are not given beauty contacts (sic),” Graham told WWD in an interview. “It’s kind of groundbreaking, because in my generation of models, this hasn’t happened yet. This is one of those moments where I’m over the moon, I cried a little.”

Nylon added that in her interview with WWD, Graham will be joining models Adwoa Aboah, Imaan Hammam, and Raquel Zimmerman in the campaign.

This also marks a huge step toward inclusivity in the beauty industry in general. Graham explains to WWD, “You’ve been slowly seeing [curvy]models pop up in makeup campaigns, but you haven’t heard of any actually signing contracts, and I think it’s because [companies]just want to their get their feet wet.”

Well, we say companies should get their act together because while they’re still wetting their feet, Ashley is making waves of epic proportions.

Revlon’s Live Boldly campaign will be rolled out over the next 18 months, and while you’re at it, they’re holding an epic giveaway over at their Instagram page.
