Ariana Grande Posts Silent Tribute To Ex Mac Miller Following His Death

The 2016- early 2018 relationship between Sweetener singer, Ariana Grande and rapper/ producer Mac Miller (Malcolm James McCormick in real life) is a well-documented affair, sadly ending in tragedy last September 7 when Miller was found unresponsive in his apartment.

While the two called it quits earlier this year, Grande always maintained she had love and respect for Miller, so it was no wonder that everyone expected her to say something in the moments that passed since news broke of his passing.

Two days after his death, Grande put up a black and white photo of The Divine Feminine artist, captionless; and with the comments section of the photo disabled.

There hasn’t been any other official statement coming from her since the photo was posted up, and to be honest, there’s really no need for it.

Grande regards Miller as one of her ‘favorite people’ who she would be alright with having in her life ‘in any form,’ she wrote back in May 2018 in a series of posts confirming their breakup.

“This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favorite people on the planet Malcolm McCormick,” she wrote then. “I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us! Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment, it’s not you. I can’t wait to know and support you forever and I’m so proud of you!!” she wrote back then.

Grande has since been engaged to comedian Pete Davidson.

Meanwhile, Miller’s former longtime girlfriend, writer Nomi Leasure, took to

Instagram to pay tribute to “a person who forever changed my life.”

The two dated in highschool up until 2016, and even moved with him to Los Angeles when his music started getting noticed.

Miller’s family has since released a statement to Entertainment Tonight, calling Miller ‘a bright light in this world.’

“Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26. He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time.”
