Amazing Acne-Busting Finds That Won’t Cost Your Whole Paycheck

0

Once puberty makes our hormones go into overdrive, with some more than others, one thing adults in every age and every stage mutually loathe is acne.

It pops up overnight even after an 8-hour sleep, intensive skin care regimens, and leaves a mess on your skin; and it doesn’t help that some products that promise all the good stuff are a combination of expensive and you’d have to delve into the deepest part of Amazon to find it. Exaggerating? Well yeah. But then again, we make a case okay?

Luckily, the mavens over at Into The Gloss love doing their investigative work in the drugstore just as much as they love trying on the high-end, made-with-gold-and-fish-eggs kind of acne busters:

Peach Slices Acne Spot Dots, $4.49

Accidentally scratched at a spot? Dab this little Korean beauty innovation on! The cellulose gum in these little patches act as a wound protectant  to keep bacteria from entering the wound, while at the same time absorbing the nasty pimple pus and secretions; helping to reduce a pimple in size practically overnight! And unlike some of the pimple-healing makeup patches available today, you can wear these in the daytime as makeup can be applied over the barely-there dots.

Neosporin, $6.37

You just maybe stared at the screen in disgust, ‘Neosporin, really?!’ but the ladies over at ITG swear by the “One part occlusive barrier, one part antibacterial germ fighter.” Slather it on after you’ve popped a doozy one, and let it work its magic.

Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment, $5.98

A drugstore OG, Clean and Clear’s formulation of 2% salicylic acid (that’s a BHA), will reduce redness and swelling, as well as kill any germs living within your pores. A word of caution though, it’s very drying, so proceed carefully and armed with moisturizer.

Burt’s Bees Herbal Complexion Stick, $8.49

Containing 10 all natural herbal ingredients designed to soothe, exfoliate and clean skin naturally, this little guy also bravely takes on cystic acne with the best of nature’s ingredients.

Desitin Rapid Relief, $5.99
Another ‘Hmm, worth a shot’ product recommendation? Maybe. But the gentle, baby safe formula guarantees you no parabens and irritants, while at the same time targeting the nastiest of zits. Think Sudocrem but Stateside.

CVS Health Tinted Acne Treatment Cream, $4.19
A hydrating wound treatment for your popped zits, this cream also doesn’t do that weird crusty thing. The tint and color-correcting is a bonus, so even you won’t be able to tell it’s there.

Hope these products help you out on your way to achieving clear, glowy skin!
