Did you open your Facebook today and found tons of your friends posting “Happy 420” on their Timeline?
If you have no idea what it is, 420 or April 20 or 04:20 is known around the world as the perfect time to smoke weed or marijuana. There are multiple accounts as to where this term originated, the most popular one points to five high school students (high school, get it? LOL) in the 70’s known as The Waldos. According to The Waldos, 420 was their code to say “let’s smoke weed at 4:20 PM after school.
With the legalization of medicinal and recreational marijuana in some states in the U.S., more and more people are becoming open to the positive health effects of the said plant. Some studies say men and women experience different effects from cannabis.
Here are some of the positive effects of marijuana, weed, pot, etc. on women that will make you want to celebrate 420 everyday:
Tetrahydrocannibol or THC, a main compound in marijuana has been found to decrease PMS. Common symptoms like bloating, headaches and nausea are said to be relieved by THC. Plus, if you experience intense cramps, marijuana can be a good alternative to over-the-counter meds.
Increases Sex Drive
This one is tricky – studies have found that low doses of cannabis can cause an increase in female libido, which means, you can go all night with your partner. However, when taken excessively, the THC from marijuana might interfere with estrogen production, which is mainly responsible for female sexual arousal.
As mentioned earlier, men and women have different bodily responses to cannabis. Men are likely to have the munchies after taking a hit of pot while women who smoke it at least a few times a week are less likely to gain weight than those who don’t.
