Fairman was reportedly at a friend’s house, locked inside a bathroom when she was found unconscious and unresponsive.
Following the news of her death, fellow 16 And Pregnant alumni expressed their grief and sent out their thoughts and prayers to Fairman’s family, who leaves behind a 7-year-old daughter.
“Oh my god. I just spoke to her a couple months ago and told her I’m proud of her and looks like she’s doing good…Don’t take life for granted. Hold your children and love them close,” reality TV star, Jenelle Evans wrote on Twitter. She added: “Don’t take life for granted. Hold your children and love them close.”
“How incredibly sad. My heart goes out to her daughter and family,” wrote Chelsea Houska, who appeared on Teen Moms 2.
In an official statement, an MTV spokesman sent their condolences to Fairman’s family.
“We are saddened by the news of Valerie Fairman’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time,” the network representative said.
In 2015, Fairman was arrested in New Castle County along with seven other women under allegations of being involved in a prostitution sting.
As documented on 16 And Pregnant, Fairman has had more than just substance abuse problems – she also had a complicated relationship with her boyfriend, Matt, who initially did not believe that their daughter, Nevaeh Lynn Fairman was his.
Ultimately, he was able to reconcile with Valerie.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Valerie, hes family and especially her daughter.
